VE day Bank Holiday – 08.05.20

This year Friday 8th May marks 75 years since our Victory in Europe in 1945 and is a day of national pride. We appreciate that we are all living within the constraints of physical isolation and social distancing, but that does not mean that this day cannot be celebrated.

To celebrate the day and to keep the sense of unity within our streets why not try the following; – Decorating your house in red, white and blue – Printing and completing an activity pack, one free to download can be found here; https://www.madeinashford.com/…/…/v-e-day-free-activity-pack – Hold an afternoon tea at home – Tune into the Queen’s speech and other shows that are to be aired on Friday 8th both on television and radio; https://www.bbc.co.uk/…/latestne…/2020/75-anniversary-ve-day – Take part in the national sing along to ‘We’ll meet again’ that is to follow the Queen’s speech

We hope the above can help to bring a sense of celebration and cheer to the day, whilst complying with current social guidelines.

For this upcoming VE day bank holiday, which this year falls on Friday 8th May, the practice will remain open for the limited services, however this will not include the requesting and collection of medication. Please be aware of the below poster for the timescales between ordering and pick up of your medication.

We wish you a safe and happy VE day from all at Sleaford Medical Group.
